Your South Africa
Would you like to arrange your own wildlife holiday in South Africa?
We plan to continue with Honeyguide's five regular holidays in southern Africa — South Africa plus Namibia — roughly on rotation, so if you have something in mind sooner than these might be in the programme, or on dates that suit you better, we'd like to make it possible.
Working with Geoff Crane (Crane's Cape Tours & Travel), who is very experienced in the Honeyguide style, we can arrange a wildlife holiday of your choice in South Africa. Here is an example we did for a couple in the Southwest Cape and Kruger, March 2015 is a briefer holiday, also a couple. A group of 4 - 7 is ideal, but more is also fine.
You could base your holiday round Honeyguide's holidays in the South Western Cape (Cape Town area), Garden Route and Addo Elephant National Park, Kruger National Park or Drakensberg Mountains and Zululand.
We can also offer Namibia. A Honeyguide group was there in 2015 (report here) and 2018 (report here) . Prior to that, four Honeyguiders were on tour with Geoff Crane in Namibia in September 2013; click here for an two-page account and here for the full report.
The four itineraries on the right (click on them to read a PDF) have been developed with Honeyguiders in mind. There are also more ideas here on Geoff's website. |
Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the Augrabies Falls National Park |
Honeyguide's three most regular programmes – outlined below – are based on a holiday of a fortnight, given the length and cost of flights to South Africa. However we can arrange longer or shorter wildlife holidays, if that suits you better, for example combined with a visit to see friends or family.
South Western Cape "Unique birds, a profusion of flowers and spectacular scenery." Based on two centres, the Cape Town area and Hermanus. More here. |

Garden Route and Addo Elephant National Park "Together they make a superb combination of the best of South Africa’s wildlife, set in a malaria-free area near the south coast. "Inland lakes, beautiful sweeping beaches and intertidal flats ... the Addo Elephant National Park protects the last elephants and Cape buffalos in the southern part of South Africa ..." More here. |
Kruger National Park "Dramatic yet accessible, wild Africa yet people friendly, the Kruger is one of the world’s great national parks. "The Kruger has the enviable reputation of having the highest recorded species diversity of wildlife in a game reserve in the whole of Africa." More here. |
